INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
Hi, I am Giovanna Tang, a Senior Manager at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Recently, I supported the instructional design of an immersive video project titled “The Ice Guardians: Guarding our lives – Now we guard theirs,” developed in collaboration with the “Let the Glacier Cool” campaign, which aims to raise awareness of glacier preservation and climate change.

At CUHK, I lead the Smart CUHK Challenge, an initiative promoting smart inclusion by providing an experimentation platform and resources for students and staff to explore innovative ideas and develop solutions for a smart, sustainable, and inclusive CUHK campus.
Previously, I led the e-Pedagogy Project, which focused on designing and developing the e-Learning Pedagogy Space, a technology-enhanced learning and teaching laboratory. The project also supported faculty members in co-designing effective online and hybrid learning experiences, and included professional development workshops on integrating emerging educational technologies such as VR and AR into teaching.
I hold a Doctor of Education in Learning Design and Performance Technology at Florida State University. My research interests focus on how instructors at higher education institutions design and develop online learning and teaching materials using emerging technologies and how instructional designers support in building capacity of instructors through professional development.
This website showcases selected instructional design projects and collaborations with university instructors in Hong Kong.
